NY - Hyde Park - FDR NHS - Roosevelt Home - Sara Roosevelt's Room

The muslim prayer rug displayed in this room was originally in the entrance hall of the house during the Roosevelt residency. It was sold after FDR's death. The rug was recently acquired by the National Park Service.

Sara Roosevelt moved into this room sometime after the South Wing was added in 1915 and used it until her death in 1941. Knowing that FDR planned to give Springwood to the National Park Service, she left a note requesting that upon her death the furtnire in this room be returned to the Master Bedroom where her son was born.

St Michael Archangel Cemetary on Widow Susan Rd., in Amsterdam, NY.

There are many urban legends surrounding Widow Susan Rd. The most commonly heard is that at night the "Widow Susan" can be seen walking up and down the road looking for her late husband.

I took a picture of this and the stained glass could not be seen through the protective plastic layer, so I figured I would see if the HDR process would bring out the color. I think It did a pretty good job, and still looks natural.
